In the 1800's, Molokai was home to a colony for
people with Hansen's Disease (leprosy). It is also known as
the "Most Hawaiian Island", as Molokai's small population includes
a large contingency of native Hawaiians, and the island is also
the birthplace of the Hawaiian hula. Located in the center of
the Hawaiian island chain, Molokai is about 2 million years
old. |
